Larry Firkins

Dr. Larry Firkins is a Professor and the Associate Dean for Public Engagement at the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. During his time at the University, Dr. Firkins has focused his teaching efforts on the integration of practical business skills into the veterinary curriculum.   Earlier this year, he was named to the List of Teachers Ranked Excellent by Their Students for the 67th time. Firkins has given over 155 international presentations in 16 countries, over 550 presentations throughout the US.

Dr. Larry Coleman


Larry Coleman

Larry Coleman was born and raised in Central Nebraska.  He attended college at the University of Nebraska—Lincoln and the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine; graduating in 1980. After graduation, he worked in a mixed animal/food animal practice in Nebraska until 1986. From 1986-1987, he attended the University of North Carolina participating in a swine residency program working with large swine integrators in that state. In 1987, he opened a private food animal practice in Broken Bow, Nebraska with a predominately swine clientele. At present, he continues to practice veterinary medicine in Broken Bow, but is also personally involved in beef and swine production.
